Ishk was set up as the next step in a 100-year history of philanthropy at Tolaram.
In naming IshK Tolaram, our founder Mohan Vaswani combined the names of his parents, Ishwari and Khanchand and that of his grandfather, Seth Tolaram. ‘Ishq’ means love in the Sindhi language. As a part of the Tolaram ecosystem, we are guided by the values, heritage and vision of an enterprise with roots in Asia, Africa and Europe. We share a commitment to creating positive impact within our communities through philanthropy, responsible investing, and sustainable business practices.
Ishk Limb Centre provides free, custom-made prosthetic limbs to amputees across Nigeria, including above knee, below knee and upper limb prostheses and polio calipers. The Limb Centre was established in 2009 as part of the philanthropic activities of Tolaram. The Centre was adopted by the Foundation in 2017.
